FAQs
Ask me anything. Here's a head start.
Straight answers to the questions trades ask before they get started. If yours isn't here, email me and you'll get a straight answer too.
Your website and your calls
When will I start getting enquiries?
The website is live in 14 days, and missed call text back works from day one. Ranking on Google is slower: it takes around 90 days for Google to trust a new site, and it builds from there. That is why every plan is priced as a monthly service, not a one-off. I send you a report every month so you can see it moving.
What happens if I miss a call?
The caller gets a text back in seconds, worded the way you would say it: sorry I missed you, I'm on a job, what do you need? You see the reply on your phone and pick the conversation up when you're free. That text is often the difference between winning the job and them ringing the next name on the list.
Do I need to log into anything every day?
No. Calls, texts and enquiries come to your phone. If you can use WhatsApp, you can use this. There is a place to log in if you ever want the full picture, but nothing depends on you checking it.
What will my website look like?
You are looking at one. This site is built the same way I build customer sites: fast, plain English, a page for every service, and it works properly on a phone. Yours gets your trade, your photos and your area.
Reviews
How does the review system work?
After every job, your customer gets a text asking for a Google review, with a link that takes them straight to the right place. You approve the wording once and it runs by itself. Happy customers leave reviews far more often when they are asked the same day.
Can I change the wording of the review messages?
Yes. It goes out under your name, so it should sound like you. Tell me how you'd say it and that is what it says.
What if I get a bad review?
It happens to every business. I will help you reply properly and calmly, which often matters more to the next reader than the review itself. A couple of ordinary reviews among good ones also reads as real, because it is.
Money, cancelling and what's yours
Why is it so cheap?
Because I want to keep you for ten years, not sting you for six months. Price it fairly, do the work properly, and you never get a reason to leave. It helps that there's no office, no sales team and no account manager between you and me. You pay for the system, not the overheads.
What's the catch?
There isn't one. The price on the page is the price, it's monthly rolling, and your domain, listing and reviews are yours whatever happens. If I do a bad job, you cancel and I lose. That's the deal, and it keeps me sharp.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
No. Every plan is monthly rolling from day one and you can cancel anytime. I would rather earn your next month than lock you into it.
What happens if I cancel?
You stop paying and the website comes down. Your domain, your Google Business Profile and every review you earned are yours and go with you. No exit fee, no hard feelings.
Do I own my domain, Google listing and reviews?
Yes, always. The domain is registered to you, the Google listing is verified to your business, and reviews belong to your business on Google. None of it is held hostage to the plan.
Why is it monthly? Can I just pay once and own the site?
Because the website is the start of the job, not the end of it. Hosting, review requests, missed call texts, tweaks and the monthly report all run every day. £97 a month is what it costs to keep that working for you. If you want a one-off site with none of the running parts, I am probably not the right fit.
Getting started
How long does it take to go live?
14 days on Launch and Growth, 7 on Local Kingpin. I start your Google Business Profile verification on day one, because Google's own checks take about two weeks and there is no point waiting.
I'm just starting out. Is this right for me?
If you have a trade and a phone number, yes. You don't need an existing website; most people who come to me don't have one. A proper site and a handful of early reviews make a new business look established months before word of mouth would get there.
What do I need to do for this to actually work?
Do good work, answer the phone when you can, and let the system ask for reviews. I can't control who rings you. What I control is that you get found, and that nobody who rings gets silence.
What if something stops working?
Email me and I fix it. It is my name on this, not a ticket queue. Growth and Local Kingpin plans get priority.
Ready when you are.
Two minutes on the form, or fifteen on the phone. No pressure, no jargon. If we can't help, you'll be told straight.
